The STAR FILTER Element
STAR FILTER® products eliminate problems associated with drum filters
and deliver higher performance with Hydroflow’s patented
STAR ELEMENT.
Double layer weave synthetic media, stainless steel wedgewire
or patented fuse-bonded stainless steel microscreen filter panels
are constructed to meet specific customer requirements based
on application and provide reliable, maintenance-free, effective
filtration.
The element’s star shape and the filter panel’s
compact, rectangular design maintains structural integrity after
removal from the filter. With the end caps removed, cleaning
on both sides of the filter panels is simple, unlike the circular
construction used in drum filters.
The STAR ELEMENT is designed with an internal support structure
that allows continuous efficient removal of entrained air.

The STAR SEAL
an Element
Connection that Works
|
 |
The STAR SEAL ensures trouble free,
effective sealing using a patented wet seal arrangement
with high tolerance machined surfaces. The positive seal
between the STAR FILTER element and the suction manifold
eliminates contamination by-pass, common in other designs.
|
|
Fully Automatic Operation
|
|
Eliminates the complex hydraulic or air closures systems
required to seal pressure filters.

Element
Isolation and
Interchangeability
|
|
Double layer weave synthetic media, wedgewire or Precoated
Microscreen panels provide filtration as low as one micron
and eliminate the difficult handling and disposal of bulky
roll media.
|
|
Conveyor Dragout
|
|
A heavy duty conveyor dragout system that can operate
continuously or can be set to index removes the solids
from the filter.
|
|
Automatic
Precoat Cycle
|
|
Ensures that there is no migration of dirty fluid (leaking
past seal due to misalignment of the module, as in the
case with O-ring connections).
|
|
Vacuum
Element
Filtration
|
|
Eliminates the complex hydraulic or air closures systems
required to seal pressure filters.

|
Patented
Microscreen
Panels |
|
A permanent filter septum and unlike drums
or tubes, the panels of Fuse Bonded Microscreen can be
cleaned on both sides, eliminating the costly replacement
of filter septums. |
|
Individual STAR
Element |
|
Isolated with manual butterfly valves can
easily be removed without draining the fluid from the system
or laborious disassembly of pressure vessels. |
|
Positive Cake
Removal |
|
Clean fluid “backflow” eliminates
the need for large volumes of air (used in Pressure Filters)
or Doctor Blades (used in Drum Filters). Doctor Blades
can force solids through and into the clean stream and
also lodge dirt into the screen reducing the open area
for filtration. |
